Feng Shui and the Children/Creativity Area

Jesse Jazmine the Wonder Child is my teenage daughter... an only child teenage daughter.  I know this sends shock waves of fear and frustration into the hearts of most who have walked these shoes before me.  She was such a sweet, beautiful, baby, toddler and youngster.  Then she became a teenager.  Even as a teen, she's still a good kid, but our communication sometimes seems as if we're speaking two different languages.  Ever experienced that?  Sometimes we didn't even have to speak - if I didn't have a smile plastered on my face, she immediately would think I was upset with her. 

We had a major difference of opinion in March of this year.  As a result, we both began to work on communication skills.  I changed the way I pray for her - I included me - asking for clearer communication and understanding. 

Then I purchased an easy to read, easy to understand, easy to implement book of Feng Shui by Kathleen K. Quinn. 

Monumental BREAK THROUGH!

On April 19th I implemented many changes to my office with the intent of enhancing my life areas - one being the children/creativity area.  I pushed and shoved and finally got the bookcase placed in the right area according to the Bagua.  I then placed photo's of Jesse and artwork of hers as well as pictures of the two of us.  I added angels, books, and other items that I love to the shelves.  Every time I would look at the area, I would feel a whoosh of warm fuzzy feel good love, joy, peace and harmony.  I've always loved Jesse - there probably hasn't been a more wanted child born, but within me I began to feel my perception of Jesse begin to blossom and fill my heart with profound elated opulence and joy. 

In turn, Jesse felt my judgment of her teen self slip away.  As a result, she began to be more open, more fun, more accepting - sweeter.  Plus she rolled better with chores, the word "no," working on communication - all of it.  I changed my perception - judging a teen - to accepting her for who she is, thereby; opening wonderful channels of communication.  This is something I had been working on all along, but after the children/creativity area was enhanced the blocks were released and wonderful changes began to take place.

Some of the wonderful rewards we've been experiencing:
*  I've actually watched her stop the words her teenage brain has told her to say.
*  I've heard "I love you" hundreds of times in the past few weeks - sincerely said -without wanting anything in return.
*  We can actually talk to each other and we're both speaking the same language.
*  When snips and stings occur, a sincere apology comes within 10 minutes.
*  Sincere effort is put into chores with wonderful success.
*  She even commented in her freshman paper (to be read as a senior) that she and I are getting along great.

All this didn't happen overnight, it was a gradual thing that is still growing.  An important point that I want to make is that it wasn't just Jesse who changed.  My perception of her and our relationship changed also.  A perfect example occurred on Sunday:

When I picked Jesse up from work, she was annoyed when she got in the car and asked me if I had to drive from another city (implying I took too long).  I didn't get upset or irritated.  I looked her right in the face and without thinking said calmly and most sincerely, "Jesse I love you and I'm so happy to see you."  A huge smile replaced her annoyance and we moved pleasantly on with our day.

It's easier now to roll with whatever happens between us.  Our bond is growing... and growing... and growing...
