********************** Meditation information submitted by: Charumati
I practice meditation every day - nearly an hour, early at dawn. It is a
modified form of Raja Yoga - for balancing one's material and spiritual life and
gaining moderation and balance in all spheres of our existence, while evolving
in spiritual path towards GOD REALIZATION.
The practice is as follows: Seat yourself in an easy and calm posture, in a pure
and separate place for your morning practice (sadhana). Pre-suppose a DIVINE
LIGHT in your Heart and be receptive to Divine Grace, with a PRAYER addressing
the DIVINE. Even though thoughts come and go, they do not disturb us. Learn to
ignore them as uninvited guests and direct your thought towards the DIVINE -
hold on and "see" your self progressing upwards and feel lighter. After some
time, the state comes to normal and remember to "THANK" DIVINE for being with
you and place the day's work and activities in the DIVINE's HANDS and carry on
your daily routine normally.
9 O'Clock PRAYER - Meditation: At sharp 9 pm, local time wherever you are, lay
aside your activity and sit in Universal Prayer Meditation, praying for the
welfare and divine evolution of the Brothers and Sisters of Humanity. Pray, "May
thy Divine Grace dawn into my Brothers and Sisters, my fellow-beings and the
Being of the "OTHER WORLD" lifting them in the path of DIVINITY. I sit in this
Universal Prayer for 10- 15 minutes, each night and pray for the welfare and
evolution of humanity and that of the other divine beings.
The above practice are the the techniques of Sahaj-Marg, SHRI RAMCHANDRA
MISSION, Chennai.
